Who we are Meet the makers

Our Story

Creative DeZigns began in 1986, founded by my late mum after raising her family in Johannesburg and returning to the UK. Inspired by the creativity and spirit of South Africa, she recognised a need for unique, affordable accessories that felt personal and different from the mass-produced options on the high street - and offered UK women a way to express themselves with confidence and individuality. Having worked closely with her on this passion-fuelled journey, I stepped into the lead nearly two decades ago, continuing her vision, with a focus on small-batch production, ethical fashion and a deep respect for South African craftsmanship. Today, I work directly with skilled artisans in Cape Town and Nepal to create stylish, easy-to-wear clothing and jewellery designed for real women and real lives. These are feel-good pieces - thoughtfully made, ethically sourced, and full of the laid-back, sun-soaked spirit of South Africa.

The Misty is a handmade infinity snood that slips easily over your head, instantly lifting your outfit with its soft drape and understated charm. Created in Paarl, Cape Town from upcycled T-shirt yarn, it forms part of a community project that empowers local artisans.

Each snood is produced in small batches, with many one-off colourways that make every piece individual. The Misty, in a light grey marl, is a timeless all-season classic. It is breathable for cool summer evenings yet warm enough for the depths of winter. Subtle variations in thickness and finish reflect the artisan hands that shaped it, making each snood as unique as the person who wears it.
